Spring 2018: Morning Glory

“The expansive gray skies can be dreary on occasion,
but would we notice with as much delight
the spring bursting forth in all its glory
had we not come from the stillness
of those short and silver days?
We wouldn’t recognize the abundance if winter hadn’t come.”

When was the last time you woke up feeling deeply and utterly refreshed? Waking up from a good night’s rest feels akin to a glowing Spring day after a long Winter: the best and brightest versions of ourselves.

But as we unfold from our wintry buds, the blustery spring mornings of the Pacific Northwest can make it difficult to feel energized no matter how many times we hit snooze.

We’ve been there.

On the bright side, there are certain interior design changes that can be made around the home to leave you feeling energized and centered, ready to take on the day. Whether it’s getting the most out of those east facing windows or adding a refreshing color palette, some design tricks tend to usher in Spring.

Warm rays of sunlight dancing across our faces… the invigorating scent of fresh squeezed orange juice and superfoods in the blender… deep and quiet inner connections that open our hearts…

It may surprise you that vivid colors have the same effect on our psyche that these refreshing morning rituals have on our bodies and minds. They energize and elevate our mood. Hints of warm hues like red and orange have been shown to inspire passion and energy, while yellow invokes happiness and clarity of mind.

Want to start your day from the right side of the bed? Perhaps a warm palette of happy, dynamic colors is just the remedy to rejuvenate your morning routine.

How would you spend your ideal morning? Our homes work best for us when they reflect the way we want to live our lives.

If you like to start your day with a little movement and mindfulness, perhaps it’s important to you to create space for a yoga mat or a fitness area right there in your bedroom.

Maybe you’re a bookworm and you enjoy waking up over a crisp copy of the Times or a new novel. A storage bench could be the perfect piece to create a functional reading nook without taking up too much space.

If you’re the type that likes to check your email and review your priorities before starting your work day, a small desk or laptop stand might be the doorway to crafting your dream morning.

Whatever you value, we love making sure your home plays into your ideal day, starting from the moment you wake up. Our interior design services tailor each space to reflect and support your way of life. Because when the flow of your home makes your routine second nature, you’ll start your day refreshed and motivated, day after day.
