Winter 2019: An Iridescent Dream

Shimmering prismatic layers - a holographic trend

Our Winter inspiration comes from the bold, brilliant iridescent textiles and art installations appearing in the fashion world. From billowing metallic fabrics to prism-like geometric garments, a holographic modern world awaits. We went all out curating starkly modern schemes filled with hovering orbs of color and surreal shimmering waves. It’s imaginative and inviting, and as dreamy as it is dreamlike.

Colorful glass sculptures and textural wallcoverings

What if your imagination had no limits? Nothing holding you back from realizing your dreams. At Miller Interior Design, we delight in bringing clients’ wildest dreams to life. Your shimmering, iridescent, full-wall sculpture dreams. Your ultra-modern-all-white-living-room-with- kids dreams. Your traditional-style-with-modern-art dreams. We take anything you can dream up and bring it into a cohesive, beautiful design scheme that encompasses everything that makes you, you.

clean, modern, colorful design scheme

Interior Design Pallets of Winter 2019

A modern design scheme can often lean toward a neutral color scheme, especially in the Northwest. But adding a bit of color is what brings these still spaces to life. We love the pairing of a natural sofa with a prismatic acrylic table. Some colorful art and iridescent lighting make this space enlivening and refreshing. We don’t believe in making living rooms that are so bare they look like a room in a museum. That’s not a room you can live in. By infusing your spaces with personality and the things you love, we make beautiful, maintainable interiors that speak to you.

Prismatic colors bring out the jewel tones of the Pacific Northwest

We are enamored with the way these shimmering hues bring out the blue and green jewel tones that are so unique to the Northwest landscape. The warm pinks and purples play with the aqua and teal and light up the room into a dynamic, dimensional space. These holographic accents can be just as home in traditional interior design as in a modern one. In fact, as you’ll see in the next vignette, we love the pairing of high modern art with historic architecture.

mixing beautiful historical architecture with modern sculpture

Winter’s 2019 Holographic Trend

There’s something so fun and irreverent about mixing beautiful historical architecture with exciting modern sculpture. If you’re one of the lucky few who have found a Northwest home with uncompromised architectural bones, we invite you to honor the origins of your house while giving it your own unique flair. Some of our favorite residential interior design schemes are those that elegantly reference the era of the surrounding architecture while bringing it into the 21 st century and adorning it with the dweller’s personal collections. Below, a stunning geometric wall sculpture alive with iridescent colors. One of our favorite installations from this Winter’s holographic trend.
